Walk Against Crime!

The Botswana Police Service’s 60 Days of Action on Crime and Road Safety and 16 Days of Activism against Gender Based Violence campaigns came to an end on the 31st December 2017. During the campaign businesses were encouraged to secure their premises and embark on neighbourhood watches over the festive season.

At the annual Block 6 Cluster 5 Walk against Crime Mr Lenamile Letsogile, of Security Systems, commended Block 6 residents in Gaborone for their assistance to the police in fighting crime. He emphasized that the Botswana police cannot succeed in the fight against crime without the assistance of the community and other stakeholders. Mr Letsogile said the dedication demonstrated by the Block 6 cluster 5 is a clear indication of a partnership between the police and members of the public in the fight against crime.

Divisional Commander South Central Senior Assistant Commissioner Matthews Letsholo acknowledged the involvement of businesses, saying it is through their efforts that the BPS continues to provide a professional service to the public. Security Systems, Vipre Security, DataDot Botswana and Botswana Muslim Society donated over P 9 000.00 to Block 6 cluster 5 to use in their crime prevention activities during the festive season.

The walk was attended by police officers, officials from Security Systems, Vipre Security, DataDot, members of the business community and local churches.
